Eastern Sierra Elopement at Rock Creek Lake
A & M’s eastern sierra elopement came with its fair share of hiccups, but that didn’t stop them from enjoying their day to the fullest. Despite having to push our day back by a couple of hours and one of their guests not being able to make it due to altitude sickness (their chosen location was at 10,000ft!), their day was still nothing short of special.
The days leading up to their elopement was filled with uncertainty. Wildfires in the region meant the air quality was VERY unhealthy - which was also made worse by the high altitude and thin air, especially for those with breathing difficulties. Then, we got storms in the forecast for the day & night before their elopement, which — for those familiar with the mountains — can turn dangerous quick. Then, as luck would have it, the day of their elopement arrived with cloudless skies and clear, fresh air (since the rains had washed all the unhealthy smoky air away!). Sometimes nature just has a better plan for all of us.
Those who frequent the Eastern Sierras understand the shared deep love we have for this region. Its epic peaks, gorgeous alpine lakes, lush green forests and babbling brooks that turn into magnificent waterfalls is beyond magical, and it was an honor to share this space with A & M. Rock Creek Lake is one of their favorite spots, so it felt fitting that they chose this location to begin their next chapter together with their little one & their families.
